Kennel Affiliations

Y-Farms is a Registered Kennel through the American Kennel Club & we are AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluators. Our kennel holds a commercial license with East Baton Rouge Parish. In 2003, we became members of the Amite River Hunting Retriever Club. Jennifer is the only breeder in Louisiana that is a member of the Labrador Retriever Club of America. We are members of the National Labrador Retriever Club, the International Association of Canine Professionals & Association of Professional Dog Trainers.

Accountability:

To be issued our kennel business permit, our facility is inspected by the East Baton Rouge Animal Control Service annually. As a breeder with the American Kennel Club, we are randomly inspected. Our kennel paperwork is reviewed, our dogs are checked to confirm that they are healthy, and our facility is also inspected for cleanliness. AKC’s rules of compliance set the standard regarding record keeping, identification, and maintaining proper care of the dogs and kennel conditions.

Experience:

Jennifer established Y-Farms Kennels in 1998, dedicating herself fully to its operation. Unlike other pursuits, Y-Farms is Jennifer’s sole and primary profession; she does not engage in any other job elsewhere. Over the years, our kennel has experienced substantial growth, yet we remain steadfast in maintaining an at home atmosphere for all the dogs entrusted to our care.
