Swat is a 75-pound black Labrador Retriever with an athletic build,
a great attitude, and a strong desire to work. Whether he’s running
a hunt test, hunting ducks with our family, or hanging on the farm,
he’s always ready to go and wants to be part of whatever we’re doing.
Swat comes from a proven pedigree.
His dam,
6× GRHRCH UH Y-Farms Honey on the Move MH 4× MNH
(“Honey”), is a six-time Grand Hunting Retriever Champion,
Upland Hunter, Honorable 1000 Point Hall of Fame recipient, and
four-time Master National Hunter.
Honey is a Y-Farms-bred female from our Rose × Cade litter and was
owned by Todd Hanson of Plaquemine, Louisiana.
His sire,
FC AFC Hockley Creek’s Switch Hitter (“Mickey”),
had an outstanding field trial career. Trained and handled by his
owner, Robbie Bickley, Mickey was a five-time Purina Outstanding
Retriever Award winner and the 2019 Top Open and Amateur Retriever
in the nation.
He retired at the end of 2024 with 17 Open wins, 25 Amateur wins,
and 345 All-Age points.
Swat earned his Hunting Retriever Champion title before turning two
and added his AKC Master Hunter title shortly after his second
birthday.
He successfully completed all six series of the 2023, 2024, and
2025 AKC Master Nationals. In 2025, he was a qualifying finalist at
the AKC Master Amateur National in Waterville, Maine, and later
earned his Master National Retriever (MNR) title at the AKC Master
National in Giddings, Texas.
In 2026, Swat competed at the AKC Master Amateur Invitational in
Wisconsin and earned his Master Amateur Retriever (MAR) title.
When he’s not competing, Swat spends the hunting season in the duck
blind with our family, retrieving ducks and geese. He’s a stylish
retriever with plenty of drive, but he’s also easy to handle and has
a strong desire to please.
Around home, Swat is known as Brad’s shadow. We jokingly call him
“Baby Boy” because if Brad is outside, Swat isn’t far behind.
His sweet, affectionate personality is just as much a part of who he
is as his accomplishments in the field.
