Family update: It has been 2 very long months since Madison was taken away from us. Brad & I have been hanging on by praying a lot and reading anything that we can get our hands on to help us understand our loss & grief. We have also been working hard to educate ourselves about organ donation. I have found comfort in "giving through my grief" by reaching out to others that are struggling and hurting, too. I find comfort in knowing that our precious Maddie gave gifts after the Lord took her home to be with him.
But as her momma, my struggle is just knowing that we as a family will have to work towards moving forward in our lives knowing that Maddie is physically not here with us. Jeffrey her 22 year old brother is back on the road traveling on the PRCA Rodeo circuit and little sis Kenzie is handling middle school with more balance than I can even imagine. We know that there is a very long road ahead of us but with the "Heart of a Lion" we will persevere. Also, remembering that the "Book may be closed but the story is not over", as Jeffrey & McKenzie shared their words of wisdom at Madison's funeral. I want to challenge each of us, that no matter what life throws at you to always "Have Hope". Your miracle can come at any moment! Thanks for taking the time to read this, Jen (Madison's Mom) —
